So fun to see your process! Do you decide on the aspect ratio of the pages when doing the thumbnails or is that already decided beforehand?

For this one, I knew I wanted the book to be landscape since the story itself suggested as much. The crocodile travels from place to place, leaving a trail of wreckage behind him. I don't like to get too fancy with different angles, perspectives, or other filmmaking-inspired visual choices. Raised on comic strips, I like to consider the canvas as a static stage upon which the characters act out the story, so a landscape format made the most sense.

But certainly, the thumbnail stage is the best place to consider different shapes and sizes!

I had the same experience with Procreate/Photoshop! Procreate was so slow for me, even though I liked the results. Have you tried using Artboards in Photoshop? It's an easier way to export a PDF and move pages around! :D

Super fun to see your process. I like the idea of blowing up smaller originals to enhance the textures! Congratulations on all your book’s success! I look forward to reading it!
